for the BJ scene, i'm pretty sure it won't matter how short it is once the real sex stuff starts. knowing winter he might expand on it at a later date too.
Vaginal sex already exists on R13 with both Asia and Rias, with R12 hinting at it before Freed cockblocks you, which gives a neat effect of hate from the player himself as well.
I don't think he's referring to the length or even quantity of scenes, but rather the fact that they're composed of static cgs.
While I do plan on adding animations (only for the scenes in the hub), story related hentai scenes will stay static for two reasons:
1- I am still learning animations
2- I suspect that once I do learn animations, they will take me quite a lot of time to make, which is not something I can afford on a monthly schedule.
This was not a recent change though, I switched to this style after Overlord H because I realized that no matter how good a model on koikatu looks, it'll never be as good as the drawn thing and in a parody I believe that not only the soul but also the looks of a character matter.

I believe the quality of visuals (and accuracy of Rias' looks) is much better than Overlord H or even most of Legacy of Hestia, but it comes at a high cost of time. However, I think it's ultimately worth it.
(Just one/two battles you can fight but it got buggy for me as i couldn't defeat one enemy at all. (He got no damage).
i assume the 'buggy' fight you're talking about is the feed fight right? he has high ass evasion so you gotta plan for missing hits and tanking a lot. (aka use koneko or if you have high defense stats issei to tank.) if not the freed fight, than please do winter a favor and go into detail sheesh.
Fighting in this game is very strategic, and you need to be able to use your units properly:
-Rook is the tank, so she should charge first and take the beating. With some luck, she can give a beating back.
-Knight is the dps, he can deal and dodge damage, but if he gets hit by a powerful attack, he might be a goner.
-Pawn is the "utility", Saji can use the absorption line and stay in the distance while he continues to absorb HP, and the protagonist can move away temporarily to boost and promote to the needed piece (Also keep in mind that you can also checkmate and become a Queen piece, which is even the strongest piece you can become).
If it's a legit bug, which could be possible, do let me know how I can replicate it and I'll fix it asap.
The combat system is still under construction, on R13 the attack formula has been improved for better scalability and the protagonist still lacks the summons (which will serve as cannon fodders in 1v1, to allow him to boost in peace).
Ultimately though, some battles are meant to be tough or even lost like in the source material, that's why the game is very forgiving and won't kick you to a game over (except in very rare specific cases).
The game, being a game, still gives you a chance if you play well, but some enemies are meant to be dangerous... Like Freed, who could 2v1 Koneko and Yuuto.
I even put a big reward in exp/money if you somehow manage to defeat Kokabiel x) Which is basically impossible unless you cheat. That's meant to statistically show how powerful Kokabiel is, and how even more powerful Vali is.
So, don't be afraid of losing battles, as long as you avoid the Game Over ones, it's all good.
