There will be character customization in the game, that's just a baseline body

This is NOT Rogue Planet, the game of this thread (formerly Operation Ground Zeroes aka Project Extermination), this is an asset flip made by the Adult mod guy (aka Gatto) as a test bench for his stuff.
This asset flip is now actually being developed by Gatto as an evolution of Project Elimination (a different game from Matto that was developed as a stepping stone towards what has ultimately become Rogue Planet and was lost in an hardware failure, he exploded an HDD) incorporating the systems from the much bigger Rogue Planet.
And with that my interest is piqued again, hahaha. Do we know what kind of depth the customizations will have?

One other thing I liked about the abandoned game, at least what was planned, was how there was going to be a rescue system for player characters held captive after failing in the field. Are there still plans to implement something like that?

"Rogue Planet", or did you mean "Rogue Protocol"?

Man it's been some time since I visited this page and downloaded the game but what's happening with all the Matto, catto ,gatto stuff? Is the game getting rebooted or something?

Patreon got canned and there will be no new updates released. It will be released on steam as a full game

The, finally, Abandoned tag in the thread name, makes it fair. Almost got whacked / banned for being very active in this thread, but thank you moderators/gods for finally allowing newbs to know the true state of the project. Strange timing tho, the moment when someone asked all of the versions to be leaked. Maybe just being paranoid... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Still, will be keeping my eyes open for the... 1/5 of the earth's size map. Given that yesterday i spend whole day, literally, trying to figure out why i can't open a single 3kmx3km level. Prob the auto-material etc.
Solution is simple, you just build a level / world-map without load zones, each area reachable by foot/no load screens.

I was way too forgiving with the dev on here. Amazing how they manage to fuck up the easiest things.
Because the dev didn't, the game is not abandoned, has moved to Steam as a SFW product in active development, you can also search it on Twitter, it's alive and well
The games from the dev that are depicted here on this site are deprecated older versions, that were part of the development cycle iterations and are no longer representative of the what the final product will be; the base game will not be an adult game any more than Skyrim is, but an Adult Module is being developed parallel to it by a trusted third party, so in the end the product will be as you expect it will be, just by leveraging an external mod (this was done for a whole lot of reasons that have been discussed at large here on this thread too, just scroll back a bit if you want more details).

I'm usually a pessimist when it comes to these things but as someone who has worked for decades in the creative field now I understand the nature of development and that what once was can become a stepping stone for greater things. I just pray the dev hasn't bitten off more than he can chew this time and that his current path will be fruitful not just for his own efforts but for his fans that have stuck by him all these years. It's certainly been a rocky road for them keeping the faith.

Anyway, if cannibalizing abandoned projects is the key to success, more power to him.

Since there seems to be a bit of misunderstanding, I would like to clarify things one more time regarding the current state of the game and its development.

The game known as Project Extermination: Operation Ground Zeroes has settled on the final title Rogue Protocol and has landed on Steam with its TBA page, keys have already been distributed to the "Veteran" backers through a Discord and Patreon campaign.

The crowdfunding has reached its goals and Patreon has been closed, budget has been reserved for the game, if you want to keep following the game's development you can check the official Twitter account or the Discord, you can find the links in the page (while you check it, don't forget to add to your wishlist and follow ;) ).

The game is a a third person action-adventure with survival and horror elements and will feature a large open world map subdivided in different areas with different biomes and gameplay loops; the game will not feature adult elements out of the box, but it is built with modularity and modding in mind, a fully optional adult module will be built by a trusted third party as an unofficial integration, official modding tool will eventually be release for further customization and are planned to be made publicly available after launch.
This was done to provide a game that could appeal to a wider audience, while retaining its original promises and avoiding getting country wide bans on those location where pornography is highly restricted.

if you want to follow the development of the adult module only, you can find the modder's page on .

Regarding the older iteration of this game known as Project Unknown: Section 7: that PoC has evolved and has become this game, its core mechanics will be integrated between the base game and the adult module of Rogue Protocol.

Regarding the spin off known as Project Elimination: The Forbidden Planet: that game is being rebuilt by the adult artist in charge of delivering the adult module for Rogue Protocol, recycling assets provided by Matto for Rogue Protocol. It was first intended to be just a test bench for integration mechanics, but it has since become its own thing. It is currently in scope to be marketed on Steam with the same format of Rogue Protocol (SFW main game + adult module) with the tentative title of EXEUnit or Rogue Patrol. You can follow the development of this spin off on the artist's page on .

I hope this clarify once and for all your doubts, if you want more informations you can find them by searching this thread, specifically you can have some more details on these posts here and here.

People are mad that "funny" stuff been separated.

Meanwhile Kagura Games publisher (and similar ones):

:KEK:

Don't get me wrong: I'm being skeptical, but I'm watching - if game ends up being a banger, it will get my money for sure.

I do not want to seem like a naive guy, but let's not judge ahead. I also share the indignation of other guys from the forum that there is no confirmation of real progress except "words", but conclusions can only be drawn when the game comes out at least in some form.

We have already seen that the developer can.
Let's wait for what we could touch with our own hands.

Thanks god I didn't payed for Patreon membership so I'm not being mad about it rn and will only pay for Steam release :KEK:
It's so funny people don't realize that Patreon membership is just Early Access in subscription form (which way more expensive), and what is EA? Well:

I'd say that Patreon is more about "supporting development of product" than "gaining early access to product", I believe it's fundamentally different and people who treat a crowdfund as an early access are doing it wrong.

While in the crowdfund you actively support an entity (person, dev team, whatever...) with talent in creating a new thing, Steam EA is more about getting hands on early and provide feedback for something that is mostly on firm tracks, it's basically a pre-order with extended demo access...also, Steam EA allows people to refund whenever, which limits the amount of money that the Dev actually get from it iirc...it's not a crowdfund.

Main point is - it (Patreon) still not promises anything and there is almost no repercussions if project somehow flops or get halted or whatever (unless it's an obvious scam). All payments are meant to be kind of charity with some benefits for payers. Yet some people believe they buying some kind of right to demand something.

As for the Steam - there are abundance of EA games that in way more raw state than even the old tech demo of this game right here.

I absolutely agree.
