okay, Mr. internet lawyer. You're not an actual lawyer, so don't pretend to be. Anyone can look up copyright and paste the same %^&* you did, but you have no clue how the law actually works in practice. I guarantee you 100% that anyone can rip off this game right now and Enyo can do nothing about it.
Not a lawyer but I have been part of a lawsuit. And the developer can very much sue someone for copyright. His assets, words, renders, content and format of the story are all his work. He has public proof of it. Not to mention Hard drives with all of it. If Nintendo can sue someone simply for allowing someone to make a copy of of a game, then this developer can very much sue for someone stealing his work.
You dont get to tell anyone they are wrong just because they are not a lawyer. Specially when they give you proof.
I guarantee you 100% that Enyo can sue. Copyright law has too much precedent, specially from Nintendo. Read something outside of a forum and stop being a sad troll. Losers like you are what make the internet a cesspool.

All of this having been said, though, Atherin does have a point. Just b/c the law would allow Enyo to file suit doesn't mean that it makes sense to. Unfortunately, copyright suits — especially thanks to giant corporations like the assholes at Disney — are expensive, so there's less motivation for someone making very little money to follow through with a lawsuit. Lawyers alone are prohibitively costly. I guess it depends on how great Enyo's passion is when compared with monetary loss to protect his IP.

And, ofc, I was very specifically talking about someone trying to steal the game and "continue" it. I just don't think anyone should be stealing False Hero as if they had a right to it or anything. Although some big shots like Stephen King might block other writers from making anything in the same universe as, say, Salem's Lot — and IDK whether he is; it's just a hypothetical — a lot of creators are totally fine with others adding to their universe. Based on what Atherin said, it sounds like additional material in the same universe would have Enyo's blessing. I wouldn't have anything negative to say about someone making a story about neighbors to Tiffany and Melanie, friends with Kate & Ashley, or a relative or acquaintance of Jane or Lucy.... Well, if it's badly done, I might say something negative. ;)

Damn, now I really miss this game all over again.

can sue doesn't mean can win. Good luck with that tho. There was no proof. He told me I should learn the law, but he's not a lawyer, so obv. he didn't learn it either, so I wasn't even the one that was telling someone they're wrong because they're not a lawyer. Nice try, tho.

LOL, Nintendo as precedent? You realize they have Actual proof of copyright. Nintendo has registered copyrights, trademarks, and misc. other junk. Nice try, tho.

Look at this twerp that has to use an alt account to call someone a loser. Nice try, tho.

Not an Alt account, just dont have anything to say because if I dont know about something I keep quiet. But I know this subject. Have spent plenty of time with lawyers on it. As long as someone can prove they did something before someone else they have copyright, That is the law does not matter what you think. They will win and have won everytime. Too many court cases to count, not that you will ever even google a subject before talking, You are a loser regardless, sad thing in desperate need of attention so you troll or spew nonsense to get it.

he can't prove it, that's the point. Nice try tho, Mr. alt account. You were part of One lawsuit, so now you're an expert on copyright law. Lolllll. What a f-in clown.

He actually thinks you're an alt of mine or something?:ROFLMAO::LOL: Yet another thing he thinks he knows that he clearly is inexperienced in. Our tones and word use aren't even similar. There's a reason I put him on Ignore. People who always think they're right and won't even read facts when placed right in front of them aren't worth the time. You're more patient than I am.
when the update will be out?
anyone?
The sad fact of the matter is that nobody knows, and it's looking more and more likely every day that this won't get another update. I would love to be wrong about that, but Enyo is a perfectionist and so changes things... a lot. The result ends up being a lot of extra re-render time, a lot of rewrites, etc. I know the pain of being less than satisfied with what you've written, but you also need to know when to let go and move forward. Enyo still struggles with that, unfortunately.

I couldn't agree more. It's really sad that this has stalled out. :(

Guys packor is right, unless you specifically register a creative work, like it's a trademark, there's no copyright claim on it and it's free use for all however they see fit and profit. You write a song and perform it and another musician or producer hears it but haven't registered it? Well, tough shit, they've created their own version and it's now the #1 song in the world and you're shit out of luck! /s
