All of DK's completed games are loosely connected, dating back to the RPGM-based SWB. So the fog is probably the same one that was in Pine Falls.
There's order to play or just I play older game and then go from there til more recent game
There's way too much kissing in this game. It'd be one thing if the MC was all lovey dovey like that with his girlfriend, but all these other thots? Come on, dude. This is supposed to be porn, not a PG13 Hollywood movie where booty calls are treated like people falling in love.

There is a BIG separation between Federal Law Enforcement, and that of State and Local law enforcement. I even *said* that a Federal Marshal enforces *federal* laws and has more in common with an FBI agent than a Sheriff or local cop. All you just cut-n-pasted PROVES MY POINT. They support FEDERAL law enforcement efforts. He DOES NOT provide support for local law enforcement. He would not be assigned to act as a beat cop in some town to deal with drunk drivers or someone's livestock being stolen (unless said livestock was taken across state lines).
Marshals don't "fill in" for retired Sheriffs. Go re-read what you just cut-and-pasted: look at how almost every sentence contains the word "federal" and "federal justice system". Those are all matters dealing with violations of *federal* law. The MC was acting on a purely local level and appeared to live and work in that town.
As I said in another post, if this guy was a Sheriff's Deputy, then him being there and doing what he's doing would make perfect sense. In that case, he'd be working for the County and covering an area that lacked local law enforcement (like some towns I've heard about where the whole police department up and quit). But go read through the things you listed that a Marshal actually does, and ask yourself if that fits in with being a beat cop in a rundown town in the middle of nowhere.

The issue isn't that he wears a Sheriff's outfit. It's that he claims to be a Federal Marshal and is filling in for the town Sheriff. He was doing that *before* anything happened in the town. He was doing it because the old Sheriff retired and for some reason he was "filling in" for him, including operating a police station and fulfilling the role of a local beat cop. I said that makes no sense, because it doesn't. Even after the explanation was given, it still made no sense at all. Obviously, if you want to ignore that and don't give a shit about it, then that's perfectly fine. Just ignore my post and move on.

Basically a ghost town, the governor and the people from outside probably don't give a damn about the city and its inhabitants, so the right thing to do would be to "leave" it without a sheriff/marshal/deputy!

We can come back and really let it sink in: The Marshalls FILL IN ANY AND ALL NEEDED ACTIVITIES FOR THE COURTS.
So: A court needs someone FOUND, DETAINED, TRANSPORTED or protected - they CAN ORDER A MARSHALL TO DO ALL THOSE THINGS WITHOUT ANY OTHER INTERFERENCE, like in old movies Judges would APPOINT COUNSELS, ORDER LAW ENFORCEMENT TO ASSIST IN ANY INVESTIGATION OR LITIGATION THEY ARE INTERESTED IN.
Like in ERASER - the ”dramatic license” is used and abused precisely like in so, so many shows and movies where MArshalls go ABOVE AND BEYOND to fulfill their duties, which in no way, shape or form detracts from their duties to perform relegated duties at a federal level: people do live in a town or city, federal cases do start in local crime scenes and Marshalls do have to find people and detain or protect them for the duration of a trial or investigation when ordered to do so in a particular location.
MC is literally given the reigns of the entire police station and the assets because everybody else was let go, MC is staffing this police presence with his own pregnant girlfriend, the lack of involvement from the local Govt. is total.
If the local Govt. shuts the police station down, MC will have to work on his mandate from home, devoid of all assets from the police.
This is hella hard for a Federal Officer to manage, yet FBI agents get assigned such lack luster whork to death jobs in movies all the time.
Like it was observed, the federal authorities can assign their workers to anything that needs fixing, investigated, observed and assisted, but if you have nobody to assist or observe, you will have to do it yourself because the mandate comes from way up high, where they do not care how you fulfill your mandate if you are ordered to do so.
MC as a MArshall is ABOVE AND BEYOND LAW ENFORCEMENT AND GETS HIS MANDATE FROM A JUDGE OR A HIGHER MARSHALL IN THE CHAIN IN COMMAND. MC can fill in ALL THE JOBS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT IF ORDERED TO DO SO.
Like everyone observed, where all law enforcement is absent, a MArshall - FEDERAL AUTHORITY IN ANY GIVEN STATE OR DISTRICT - he can absolutely do everything needed to assist - in this case do it all - in any investigation, man hunt, detention and protection and transport of people relevant in a federal case.

In this game, MC is utterly alone, no other agency present.

You'd be surprised how many people would fuck somebody but won't kiss them. Not only is the so-called romance here unrealistic, it's corny and ridiculous when the MC has a canon girlfriend. Also I'll be damned if I'm going to miss out on the sex scenes with the girls I like because I'm being loyal to one fictional chick. What am I supposed to do, multiple playthroughs for each? Are you sure about that ? When you date everyone in P5, they eventually address it and it does not ends well for you, even if it's just story scenes since the game is already over at that point. Its real true consequence was the item you get for new game + . And in previous titles you were losing S-Rank levels with the girls

can play on any order, nursing back and pf are most connected if attempts 1 ending and doesn't have enuf points then ends to pf and in pf 1 of mga's girls makes appearance and on 1 game (possibly pf) mc meets demon or similar from some dk's early games.
