The cookie game isn't there anymore and you don't get fired from your job. You just hold down a button and make money. Once you train up certain stats, you get better at holding the button down longer.
Well, Im trying it out.... but what I remember, you have to finnish working 100% then youll be fired and the minigames begin...
Im at 60% right now...

i haven't played for a year now, is it worth paying the patreon?
Here's the best answer and analogy I can come up with.

First, no.

Second, imagine someone building a ship. They have the idea down. It looks great on paper. It impresses a lot of people and those people are excited about sailing on the ship. But the ship's owner keeps tearing down the build and starting over. He adds a mast but then takes it down. He adds a stateroom, but then decides he doesn't like the design. He chooses one propulsion system, but then decides there is something better so he dumps the first system and attempts to install another.

All the while the people originally excited about the new ship are losing interest. They become frustrated and some go elsewhere for a different ship. Others stay but complain and as the complaints grow, the negativity starts to drag the project down. Investors leave and the owner now faces attempting to finish the ship with his own money or scuttling the project in frustration.

In the end, the owner is to blame as he failed to realize no project is perfect and what he learns to do or not to do would be best served for his second boat and the one thereafter.

This analogy is great, might even borrow it for the “godson” game

I did finish %100 of work but the game lets you continue working there afterwards. The cookie game never comes back. And I'm pretty sure I've explored the entirety of this new test version as well.

It's more like they built the ship and the critics of the ship told him to make another ship because the first ship was no good and then complained that the other ship got made and then turn around and said the first ship was really good.

Not a single person was telling them to recreate the whole game in a worse engine.
Then you have selective memory. Complaints were coming in since day 1. Some demanding Renpy like they're the adult-game gestapo and others complaining about the bugs. It's fairly obvious to any fair-minded person that looking into the bugs they think they may have found a better way to organize and structure their game so yeah, had to overhaul. Whether this overhaul is a good direction or not has yet to be seen since it's back to a bigger version of square 1.

Nono, he's saying no one lobbied for Godot, which is true. That's entirely consistent with your remark of "some demanding renpy". Besides, he didnt switch to gadot for mechanical advantages, he switched to monetize gameplay features without easy player modification which renpy allows for.

If after all this time, the game is back to square one, I think that sufficiently answers whether it's a worthwhile direction.

So I haven't played in awhile and redownloaded... I have whatever the 0.1.9.8 build is and first thing: great that the prologue bug was fixed, actually getting to see the first Nora scenes finally was nice.. but now I'm at a point in the story where the cookie game won't show even though the quest tells me to "go to work" also it stopped telling me what day it is and the bar icon isn't there so there goes that crucial part, and I got the meeting with Mina but after reloading a much earlier save I now cannot get her to give the initial text to meet.. Also maybe unimportant but Ava in the garden doesn't disappear until I do it which I don't think is supposed to happen as it's supposed to be an early morning event lol.. Anyone else have this or is my game somehow specifically fucked? idk why I still bother but this is one of those projects that will haunt me forever, I've never even made it to the best part after getting the 3k or whatever

The way you work has changed now, you simply drive to the bank building, then theres a "Work" button you hold at bottom of middle screen, similar to how you hold when lifting at the gym or running at park.

Basically no ETA on a new release. Just like last year at this same time, the game code is receiving a complete overhaul.

The dev is doubling down on the sandbox and grinding features rather than giving people what they want...a good story and images. It sounds like the next update won't even feature new story development for the characters that people actually want to see Melissa/Mina/Nora.

Thanks for the laugh.

If any of you ever feel like you're out of your depth and have no fucking clue what is going on, remember this game and you'll immediately feel better.

On the only bright side, we can all forget about this game, come back in months/years, and we'll still be caught up to content.
