I don't understand remakes... If you wanted to use Unreal, start an entirely new project.
Technically, it is similar to sequels or formulaic work, it is easier to do a similar thing over and over with a minor change than create something completely new. Think of it as doing a popular play with a different set of actors or colorizing a black and white movie or doing it in 3D. It isn't original, but it can appeal to a base audience that already exists instead of the risk of the unknown. In the case of ULT, they actual have stated an intent to make new content in the new medium, so makes perfect sense to me.

Been a while, so is this an actual game now or just a collection of animated scenes dotted around the house with no connecting story or anything lol

You can check the change log on the first page of the thread, but essentially story mode is still a way off.

It's not a remake.
Due to the nature of a 3D environment, gameplay and storytelling will be comletely different. Same story ? Maybe, maybe not. So far there is no stories. The activities however have nothing to do with the original game.

Since Lust Theory is their main money maker, I can see why they chose this scenario. It keeps people interested and willing to pay.
But if you think a different game would be better, you better play a different game.
Now that is just the dumbest reply to anyone I have ever seen. When it clearly says on the first page that it is a "remake in Unreal" using Unreal Engine 5

Actually, it is kind of both, which was stated by the development team in discord, starting like the original with the same characters but planned to have original content as well.

The current content is mostly proof of concept and involves the main characters in their house.

I know that this "game" is still in a very, very early stage of development, and that these "releases" are meant to arouse interested in this game. But to be honest, sometimes it's probably better to NOT release another preview, especially if it is as broken as version 0.3.8 is!

I've played a couple of the previous versions, so I knew what to expect. Running around the house, unlocking some animations, maybe some "easter eggs" here and there, that's it. Sometimes a couple of new renders in the gallery. That's it. But version 0.3.8...?! I can't complete any quest, they keep popping up even if I had them finished already, I can't collect holograms, it's always "1/21", and don't get me started about the experimental "outside world" or the "College interior map"!

I think if version 0.3.8 is the first version people play, this does exactly the opposite of what Incenton probably wants to achieve: people will be repelled from this "game" instead of getting their interest!

Again: sometimes it's better to not rush things and to resist the urge (or the request from paying customers) to release another preview. Version 0.3.8 is a big step backwards and should never have been released!
