Okay this might be a sidenote and could be just me,

But people really like speech/voice in these games? Sometimes there is voice for vn games and I just tend to mute it, nothing wrong with it but it just takes me out.
But these little voice snippets of 'heyyy, yes... NO' dialogueis even worse, Like good job you are using the money for voice stuff..but is it really something people like? want..?

I am prob the outlier here..
I'm the same. I either fully mute or let only music on if the music is at least decent. The sex or random short voices are just distracting.

interesting to hear... I was under the impression it's generally considered something that could intensely heighten the experience and managing it properly is a milestone into solid dev territory.

Incest isn't the only taboo.
Sure but what other "taboos" are in the game? Anal? Not really taboo in the west, maybe except for religious people. Urination? yes but I doubt there is more than a couple scenes.

Anyway how is it related to the university? Because of the cult?

Yes I think it's really annoying and I muted them.

Not interested by voice acting either, big no for AI, and even with real actors (which is very very rare outside japanese games) it's not appealing to me.

Yeah I let music play on, and if there environment sounds, the 'during sex' sounds can be very jarring on some games where whats happening on screen isnt as loud or fast but the girl is screaming like crazy and the slapping noise.

Prob from devs pov it must be a milestone type of thing 'I allocated/made' enough money for voice but is it just as important for the people playing?

Oh yeah Big NO for ai stuff, and the few games that do have va's I just mute them after a lil sampling.

I honestly cannot think of an adult game where any sounds besides music made the experience better. Literally every single game that has sounds like moans, sex sounds, "squishy" sounds etc etc sound like shit and are either pulled from some generic catalog and all sound the same or are recorded on some $11 device and sound terrible.

Same. I've tried some and now "mute all" is usually the first setting I look for in every new Ren'Py game

Guess I've been running in different circles. To each their own, but yeah, it is interesting to know this as I had the same wondering about how people can manage to go through a game without missing sound_ not that a decent enough scenario/visual cannot be adequately stimulative alone, I mean I can enjoy a pure text-based if it's good enough, but still... even wish something as well beyond perfect as Wife Trainer had sound...

2025 is here for everyone to enjoy the bunch of gains the devs have gotten good at about their games.

This is the short and sweet summary of how tantalizing sound is to the experience while delivering the butterflies of joy to every belly:

The best way to enjoy this gem of a game:

There are other interests to think of when asessing the rights or wrongs of souns in our wonderful games:
First order of engagemenrt is this:- Devs wanna explore, experiment and offer as much of a full experience as they feel themselves capable to deliver, so adding sound comes as a prop to have in their dev tools and it is also, sometimes, the push to make the whole game making experience worth while on theoir end:
Second order of engagement is something else:- There are devs with actual, planned in advanced, fully describes steps, geared to enhance their games with the addition of sounds; it is a step they wish to take on their evolutionary journey when developing their games; as such stripping them of this planned feature, this exciting feat for them to explore and to implement into their game, it sometimes brings them down to outright abandon their whole game making adventure.

Do be a human being and understand that people who deliver this and many other games, they all have their own fetish radar and their own entertainment goals when developing games. Such a fetish that lifts their spirit up way high may come through the enjoyment of them implementing a sound interface. We can always mute everything, and as such, we should shelter the devs and afford them their fetish of adding sounds to their games as a minimum lee way, in order for them to enjoy themselves while continuing to develop their games based on their skill set and according to their road map, where sound is a distinct and a dear feature as close to their hearts as possible.

If it was fully voiced I wouldn't mind, but yeah the little voice clips and sounds whenever a character speaks throws me off, feels like I'm playing The Sims. Glad I have the option to mute it because other than that I adore this game.
