I guess I'll also take the time to address some of the stuff I've been reading. Yes, if you shat on me, I read it, and I know who you are.

If you don't like the farming system, that's totally fine. I'm not making games for every single person to enjoy; I'm just making the games that I would really like to play myself, and a Rune Factory game where you can fuck every single person in town is a game I would have loved to play. That said, I've been planning from the beginning, ways for people who don't like that aspect to progress through the game. If you leave the farm completely unattended and don't engage with it, you will still be able to make progress. It's just so early in development that I want to work on what would be the ideal core gameplay loop. I just have to get to that loop part.

"All of the fucking grinding." Look, I know it's too grindy. It wasn't my intention. As a developer, for me it's hard to adjust these things since I know the best and most optimal way to get things, even if I play like I think most people would. It's not like I forget the game I've designed. I will be adjusting the difficulty slightly, and on top of that, I'll be adding a cheat menu to unlock stuff for those who truly don't have time and just want to JO.

"The game is aimless or unfocused." Yeah, a little, depending on what people are referring to. Some might be by choice. I like games that just throw me into a world with very little direction and let me do what I want. If I want to ignore that epic storyline you crafted, then let me do that. If there's a character you don't like, then I want you to ignore them. This game has no story, it has no objective—besides the obvious one.

For those calling me a scammer, idk man, I do what I can. I don't have massive amounts of money to just throw at programmers and modelers. I have to work within the confines of my capabilities. Yes, I know remaking a game a bunch of times looks bad. I didn't want to. Stuff keeps changing, and I have to keep adapting. I also learn new things. Sometimes I realize that something I did wasn't optimal and I have to change it. To be fair, that mostly applies to my 3D models, not so much the games.

Also, if you want to shit on the game, piss on my face, and fuck my mom, that's fine. It's the beauty of the internet, but at least give some criticism to go along with it, something I can work on, not just a free insult XD.

Lastly, if you enjoyed the game and you commented, thank you so much; it means a lot to me. Even for the people that didn't really like it or really hated it, I'm really happy that you even took the time to check out my game, even if there wasn't much to check for those who couldn't play. I hope I didn't come across as mad or combative at any point. I'm not mad at anyone; I get it. I used to be on this forum a lot before I made my games. Now I only know work.

Thanks, everyone. Love you <3
Love the game, but it's like December now and you havent added any cheat yet like you said you would.

I need help
my first guess is you probably have WAY WAY too many things open especially for a laptop close all applications and then open small complex

2 you should update your laptop and the drivers, I can see the bottom right says it’s waiting to update

it’s probably too much memory being used so it closed or gave a error

Id advise next time take a screenshot using print screen instead of using your phone because we can almost see your face and your entire room (just internet security)

As somone who uses a laptop for games like these I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH a lot of games will not run properly or may cause your laptop to severely overheat, small complex runs decently on a average spec laptop so for the best experience make sure you have as much memory available as possible (make sure your not running anything else)

Where can I create the save folder to put the save file? My game cannot get past the introduction, so I´m thinking of loading a save and see how the game goes from there. But I do not know how to name the folder or where to put it. Any help?

Glad to hear that man. I love the game and wish you all the best. I've tried gamedev a few years ago and know how rough it is. Certainly a 3d game!

Hope this engine is what you've been looking for :)

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season! I wanted to take a moment to update you on everything happening behind the scenes. I wish this post could have been a release announcement, but December has been a month full of responsibilities and compromises for me. That said, I’m looking forward to having more free time once January starts. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Big News: I’ve hired an employee. Thanks to your amazing support, I’ve brought someone on board to help with the more time-consuming tasks. He’s still in training but making excellent progress, and don’t worry, I’m keeping him well-fed.

Small Complex 4.0 Upcoming Update

Here’s what you can expect:

Returning Features
Player Calendar
NPC Map
Weather Events
Farm Growth
Rebalancing Gameplay

Unfortunately, that’s all. The release date for the new version has not been specified.

I feel that most of us just loved so much the game, the way it feels where is going, that we can't wait for more, is such a good derpy(in a good way) quality of model, that one can laugh or love it.

And is kinda bad the fact you are most of the times creating a new project before finishing the other, but is cool that each new one is better then the one before (at least for me).

Just to say, that the quest are a great way if someone doesn't want to make a farm, it could also help that you could buy some raw materials so you can craft, but I feel that you already have that planned, the fact you can put the flower on the coffee, is a great idea for extra scenes, and I just hope you put a annoying girl so we can hate her and fuck her even harder.

Since Ik dev is in this thread, I dunno exactly what you are adding next obvs but if you could include a quick and dirty checklist in game of stuff there is and stuff you’ve done that would help a lot. Keeping track of what’s new between releases is kind of hard and so knowing what’s what and what you’re already done after picking up the game for the first time in months is nice. Especially since we are bouncing back and forth between a few different women.

doesnt have to be super complex or have a fancy UI behind it, just like a literal checklist would b cool. Set a bunch of bools that initializes as false and set true when you get to a scene, and then take any unused key and have it toggle text displayed on screen which are a strings concatenated with the bools, all ya need tbh it can look like shit nobody cares since the alternative is looking back and forth at the changelog.
