The reason I posted was to see if people preferred long scenes.
Some people do like them
Some people don't mind them
Some don't care
Some people try avoid them
Some people dislike them
Some people hate them
etc. etc. etc.
The above it the answer to most "what do you think?" threads.
I'm willing to bet they're in the minority.
But you will never know because the chances of getting a accurate and proportional response from the over 8.2 million members is impossible.
Also even if they were in the minority that does not mean they should have to go without content.
A quick post in the games thread asking how long scenes are and if they are skippable could easily saves hours of waiting in game and so could learning what functions the game itself offers to pass / skip or choose content.
As for people who prefer a story, so do I. However, there are better ways to tell a story than long drawn out scenes, especially when in the middle of a sex scene.
Except those game ARE in the minority when compared to ALL the games out there, so people not wanting games that jump straight into sex, have sex every two minutes, who might want dialog heavy sex scenes etc. already have a hard time finding games like that and now you want to decrease that number / eliminate it.
As for their being better ways to tell a story, yes there are BUT that is yours and my opinion and many others do not share it and it is only fair that they also get the content they enjoy.
I played a VN yesterday that had a long animated intro that included "spoiler scenes" (about half that were ingame and it could NOT be skipped). Did I enjoy it? No! Am I going to make a thread about it and other games like it? No because I know that others did and will enjoy it, the game was just not for me, so I deleted it and moved on.
That being said, have you played chasing sunsets? That bar scene lasts forever but is really good. So in one case I didn't like the long scene and in another I did but that is my tastes and I am not going to try push them onto others.
Didn't check to be honest. But even if it did, given the length of this scene, you would've been holding down the skip button for several minutes.
It would depend on the speed that the forward was set to and how many triggers / events have to play out. If forward is set to max and no triggers / events and usually one or half a line of text per window, you can skip a 15 minute scene in about 20 seconds. Also some of them come with an auto feature (keys differ per game) just hit S or Shift S or which ever key was assigned and sit back and it will auto fast forward for you.
There is also the option that if you feel the scenes are taking too long to just close the game....
