I have been play adult games for about 5 years now, and this one is my favorite one I have played. It is one of the few lewd games that really nail the "Role-Playing" aspect of RPGs. Being able to pick your characters sexuality and whether or not you want to allow darker content are both really nice features to have, allowing the player to pick the experience they want to have. You start the game assigning all your skills, and, unlike in most of these games where stats are just how you do combat, they all meaningfully come up giving you different paths and opportunities. The second person perspective really allows you to get into your characters shoes, and actually try to figure out what you would do in these situations. Despite there only being 3 days of content (there could be more, but all the paths I went down ended then), there is a deceptive amount of content. As I mentioned above, there are so many branching paths and ability to express your character. I have been playing this game off on for about 2 years now, and each time I replay it, I find whole new paths with new scenes that I never knew existed. There is also so much lore, about everything, and I love that so much. Some might say that there is too much lore, and the most of it is unnecessary for a porn game, but those people are cowards. How am I supposed to get my rocks off without first knowing the geo-political situation of the setting? In all seriousness, I do truly enjoy learning about all the backstories and histories of this world, I think it shows how passionate the author is about their game. With all of those things together, it comes off as less playing a video game, and more like a dungeons and dragons session with DM who has put a lot of thought into their world.
And the adult scenes themselves are some of the best written smut in the NSFW gaming scene. While there are a lot different types of scenes in this game, cards on the table, I mainly go through the submissive routes. In the lewd gaming world, submissive female protagonist smut with dub or non con scenes are mainly, in my opinion, about watching women suffer for the male gaze. This is one the precious few with well-written second person perspective (putting you in the protagonists' shoes) submissive female protagonist smut with dub or non con scenes where crucially it is clear that the author respects women. For me, that is a big deal, and what truly elevates this to the best smut I have read.
Is it perfect? No. Most of the story lines are unfinished, and it has bunch of perks that look fun, but I reach the end of the current content before I can use them. I think the biggest issue is how obvious the Patreon is advertised. As soon as you go to the shop or level up, all the cool Patreon exclusive outfits and perks are Right There, immediately letting the player know how much content they are missing out. And that leads to a lot of players thinking that is a cash grab game with no content, with all the good stuff locked behind a pay wall. I don't think that is true, this is game full with branching paths and hidden content, but I think the first impression of immediately being hit with all the Patreon exclusive sticks with people. To be clear, I am not against Patron exclusive content, a girls gotta eat after all, but I think making it more subtle would alleviate alot of the 1 star reviews. This is the game that I have considered supporting on Patreon, but I do thing that tiers are way to high for me to justify donating to. I am curious about what the Patreon exclusive content is, but not 100-dollars-a-year curious.
I have 2 main suggestions on what I think would be beneficial to add to the game. Firstly, a "back" button. This is a game full of choices and opportunities, and there has been many times where I wanted to go back to see what would happen on the other path. Yes I can reload saves, but that relies on me constantly saving before every choice, and I often forget. Nothing is worse then realizing that you will have reload save, and redo everything you have done in the last hour just to get to the interesting choice. I know a lot of twine games I have played do have a "<" button on the top left, and I think the play experience would be improved by adding one here. My second suggestion is some sort of "Hints" or "Walkthrough" page. I think that the average player would play through this game once, then quit mistakenly believing that they have experienced all the game has to offer. There are whole story lines and paths that I did not know about until I started poking around the discord. And that was after playing through the game 4 or 5 times. I enjoy the author's writing a lot, and I think it's quite sad that there are stories that the author has spent hours about hours tinkering away on plot lines, only for most players to never see them. I think having some sort of hints or google document with a walkthrough will help highlight all love that the author put into this game.
All in all, despite having some issues, this is the game I keep coming back to. I love the aesthetic, the writing, the plot, the characters, and especially the sound track, and I wait with baited breath for the next update.
