Exactly. Yes technically i do not mind the story having a relatively prominent character; i just don't want them to be a cringeworthy maniac who is obsessed with corrupting the female Love Interest. Since i want the corruption to be just an organic resultant of the girl trying to fit in/assimilate to the local culture.
Although i will admit now that the underlying idea i've been tiptoeing around all this time is:

As is contextualized by the above; i'm trying to see a Netorare story which captures this premise. More specifically, a folly about a dude who (severely wrongly) thinks he can have a "cool" girl be his faithful girlfriend. Only to be betrayed by her as she's trying to strike the impossible balance between being the wholesome girlfriend he wants and trying to fit in (to her ipso facto hypersexual social environment and consequently another man's lap). I believe this is a very grounded and realistic narrative premise.
So the entity who "cucks" him is actually the environment itself, and not necessarily a pathetically-obsessed dork who is hellbent on stealing his girl. Now that i think about it, i feel like this idea of Netorare i'm trying to picture is just the average backstory of so-called "redpillers".

That's a fair but loosely accurate caricature to what i'm alluding. But the general premise is correct (i suppose).
The discrepancy between that caricature and the idea i'm alluding to is that in the caricature, the fucking happens before the love interest willfully forego being faithful to the MC. I'm trying to allude to the idea of Netorare where the love interest thinks (or rather, be led to think) it's socially more advantageous to dabble into/entertain the adultery than it is to actually be faithful to the MC. So she consciously chose to cheat on the side, while keeping an appearance of faithfulness to the MC. That's where the amusement is for me.

It seems you are just assuming it in one singular form. and no this "writing exercise" still does not explain whatever "characters are hypnotized by the author" mean. True, there is potential for good Hypno NTR but people avoid spending time playing Hypno NTR games because most of them are boring and the LI slips really fast making the NTR boring and predictable. It's more of a problem with the premise because it isn't easy to make a Hypno NTR story not snowball into sex after 2-5 interactions.
