I cant seem to get the trigger on getting the book in Madeline's room. I did read about the bugs with the mods, so I deleted everything. Reinstalled the game, started a brand new one. Yet I still cant get it to trigger. What am I missing?

Please see my post here which explains how and when to get the book. If, for some reason that doesn't work, please attach your save so I can take a look.

Does anyone have a save from other versions?
Unfortunately we do not, as there were some stat issues in the earlier saves we had. Having said that, the stat issues in the earlier saves should be corrected in this version and the next update. You are welcome to use this save from v0.5.1, but please note, you may see a slight difference with Madeline's and/or Victoria's stats, so they may not match what the walkthrough says once you've caught the save up with content in v0.5.3.

Please learn to keep saves in a common folder. I emptied my porn folder 5 times since last I played your game. Those saves are long gone and it is annoying that I have to start a new save.

Please learn to read the message posted in OP. It gets annoying that we constantly have to keep repeating ourselves because players don't bother to read.

I done the same. Feel like keeping save games in the game installtion folder isn't particularly smart
Far better to have them in the game's folder, where the player chooses to install it, than to fill up system folders that can go away if your system crashes or something. Better to let the player decide where to put them, so they can keep them safe. It is not our fault if you delete things you need. The saves folder is clearly named, and not buried, it's easy to find, and easy to back up.

The folder I have to keep emptying, is the damn APPDATA folder, because so many renpy games keep trying to fill it up, when I don't want any games or game files on my C: drives. I have game drives for a reason. C: drives are for system files, save games are NOT system files, so they should NEVER be in a system folder. That is just basic logic.

Feel like my game has softlocked, I've progressed a week or two in game with no hints or objectives, all girls are showing there is nothing i can do.

I've viewed all paintings, got all books apart from Envy which Olivia gives to you.

Last objective I believe was the 1st time Anabelle paints you

Save is attached

EDIT: Ignore that, loading to the main menu and back fixed it apparently

According to your save, you will need the book that Victoria has. You'll need to go into her room to get it at 23:00 (you can actually get that right now). As for the modeling event with Annabelle, it's way too soon for that (her stats need to be at least 25/30). So you'll need to progress with her some more. As for Olivia, you'll need to follow her hints for a bit until you have to snoop in her room when she is showering.

You will also need a few things from the mall (boxing gloves, workout clothing and swimming shorts for starters) so you can workout. It will be required later. Go to Ruslan's fight club to make some extra money.

If you're not seeing hints, I would venture to guess you are using a cheat mod which has bugged your save. You would need to start a new game without the cheat mod.

I don't even think it's about smart/not smart, it's that I play 98% Renpy games, so that's the muscle memory I have when organising my files and folders. After playing an update, I'm not going to go back to the first page and recall the instructions (unless I've been burned before and remember not to delete it).

Yeah i sent an old save, hadn't manually saved which I blame for it being 1am.

I fixed it by loading to the main menu and it guessing recalculated which quests I needed cause I'm back on course

Yeah, if you make that mistake, you need to learn from it. If not, well... That's a you issue.

I recoil at the idea of deleting a game, unless it sucks, the only time I delete a folder, is when I am replacing it with the next update. For this game, I am a tester, so I have almost every version of it still on my drive, and won't delete them until it's complete and we have finished the testing process. I currently have 108 versions of this game in my F95 game folder, and that will keep growing, at an average rate of 4-5 a month.

External drives are cheap, there is no excuse not to have at least one.

I said it was a me issue, so thanks for reiterating that.

And being a tester is not the norm for gamers, so I wouldn't expect others to hold onto every version of a game. I've got just under 700GB of games in my folder, so after I play a version, I'll delete it until the next chapter comes out. There's obviously a large backlog, but unless I make a specific exception for it, that's my best practices. This game is one I'll make an exception for, but other potential players likely won't, so it may affect the devs ability to retain an audience. Just a consideration for those making unity games, which have a smaller share of the market. Whether they want to change things, add more warnings, or leave them as is, is completely up to each and every dev.

I was responding to you and others agreeing with you, but yeah, sorry about that part.

I don't expect others to hold onto every version, but why would you delete the current one? I keep every game I play's 'current' version. Don't you go back and replay things? Re-enjoy your favorite parts? Isn't that the point of porn games?

As for our audience, we expect most of them to be at least a bit tech savvy, read the instructions, or at least listen to us when we say things. This topic was voted on by supporters, and this is what won. Most of his paying players are older gamers, and we prefer things to be the old fashion way. Put the game stuff, in the game's folder where it belongs, not in random places in hidden system folders that could be lost in a crash. Also, this game is mainly for people who buy it on Steam, once it is complete, not for pirates who pay nothing, they will not be updating it much, if ever.

Like it or not, you guys are technically testers, you are playing incomplete games, and you need to expect some inconveniences. We appreciate the help, but the paying customers are the ones who decide these things.

Personally, if I were to make a Ren'Py game myself, I would do my best to disable that 'appdata' save thing there too. I despise it. I hate having to go in and delete that folder every so often. Constantly filling up with redundant crap. It is a waste of space on my smallest hard drives. In fact, I think I will go empty it again now. Over 2.5gig, it's ridiculous to put all that in my C:\.
