nothing new, 90% of the best games here are abandoned. Only the ugly ones with terrible graphics survive here.
Maybe you need to change your approach to select games on here.
My completed to abandoned ration is about 10/1 (10 completed for every 1 abandoned)
I have about 40 games in my completed folder and about 5 in my abandoned folder.
To be fair, I'm sure there are more abandoned and more completed games (I suck at being organised).
About 150+ Games is in my playlist and currently ongoing (Again some of them might actually be completed/abandoned - I sometimes forget to move them)
But even if I was generous, my number of completed games far outnumber the abandoned ones.
The biggest tip I can give you is patience. I do not start a game that is not at least 6 months old. It does not matter how good it looks or how insane the story is or how many positive reviews it has. It needs to have some time under the belt.
This is the biggest thing, because after 6 months, you can now deduct at least a few things from the game.
1) The dev is not a fly by nighter. If he managed to stick it out for 6 months with at least 3 updates, there is less chance of him still bailing on the game.
2) You know a lot more about the game. The ratings will be a bit more accurate, since all the very early 1s and 5s will by now be neutralised by a good average score
3) You can see how popular a game is. I generally also stay away from game that have less then 1Mil view. I might consider it at around 500k
So yes, being a bit more picky before I start out a game, really helps to keep the disappointment of abandoned games to a minimum. Make no mistake, you will still run into an abandoned game every now and again, but Your ratio between completed and abandoned should be pretty good.
My 2 cents.
