I think first you need to define what is "gay". If for example you define it as "a guy having sex with another guy", then a guy being pegged by a woman wouldn't be gay.

to me "gay" means of the same biological sex, or if you want to get diverse, same gender expression (masc/fem; NOT identity, it'll get messy)

Assuming you are talking about male x female sex, it's not gay in the technical sense. It could be seen as emasculating, which can be seen as "kinda gay" in a colloquial sense. Also, why you enjoy such a thing matters, imo. I doubt that it became more common that it was in the past. If you search in the porn archive (not archive from porn site, but porn from the first half of the 20th century), you'll find pegging scenes. Not with the same frequency that you can find them nowadays, but they exist and were already use in porn.

I think that it's more a question of mind openness, and a predominance of amateur porn. People are more likely nowadays to admit that they like pegging.
