Wonder if folks complaining about the completed tag have actually played - I struggle to think of any other ending for this game except for pregnancy, but I don't think this dev has ever done pregnancy so I wasn't genuinely expecting it.

Imo well done, love to see a title concluded instead of being developed for eternity with hundreds of characters that never complete their character arcs. Don't think I'll bump this higher than my current 4 star rating but it's a solid title.

if you had Nickle for every time you seen someone on here proudly exclaiming they don't understand software versioning.
You still had none other than my foot in your ass.

If you're making a game you have a notion how far you wanna continue and start proceeding with closure of the game.
You don't got from 0.0.1 to 1.0.0 Randomly it looks completely unnatural and makes it look unorganized.
As a game developer I would assume you think ahead how much further you want to continue and accordingly increase the version numbers to end with magical number of 1.0.0 completed.

The notion of this version numbering makes sense is completely copium because 0.20 to 1.0.0 makes it sound/look like they had no idea how far they wanted to go with this game until they just axed it here.

Next time im making a version i will go with 0.0.0.0.1 and increase it with 1 to 0.0.0.0.2 and when i feel like im done with the game ill go 1.0.0 because its normal and popular. iron4doves said so..

Get out of here lmao.
That's not how any of this works. Build numbers aren't even for the consumer anyway. It's functionally impossible to prescribe a timetable to development because of reality. What if the game isn't functioning properly? What if the writer had a change of heart? What if a feature isn't as popular as you wished?

Years of devs inflating build numbers have broken your perception.

How come more than 20 version increments don't justify a "1.0" bump? That's a lot of dev time.

Because again they didn't. This is not and was not Siren's main game. This was a side project that they would work on occasionally in between updates of their other two games Town of Passion and Zombie retreat. Both of which have sequels in development for over a year now. If you've played their other games they're a lot more extensive than this one for a reason. This was just always a very light maintenance game where they would add some new scenes here and there while their other games have a lot more focus on sandbox mechanics and puzzle solving, with larger maps and more love interests. It's literally in the developer's notes and they've been working on this ame longer than they originally planned

Developer Notes:

== Roadmap/Plans ==

In case you weren't aware, House Chores is the third of three game projects that I am working on simultaneously! Because of this, it's a lower-priority project and it's designed to be a little less demanding compared to Town of Passion & Zombie's Retreat.

I want each update/build to feel meaningful but this will not be the lengthiest visual novel out there by any means.

My plans are to finish this visual novel in a year so roughly the late summer of 2020. I also intend for this game to be just an hour or two from start to finish if you quickly play through it. If enough people enjoy House Chores, it's possible that I will increase the scope of the project slightly to include more content!

I'm here for the first time. Is this a open world game like "Peasant's Quest" and "A Struggle with Sin" with lot of replayability or is it a linear style game where we have to go from one event to other in a straight forward fashion?

Is it worth playing?

its the latter (relatively linear sandbox RenPY game)

but it's still pretty good. Sometimes you just wanna hang out in a house and bang, right?
