not sure about the images, but all animations should be openI downloaded your save and I saw that some images are missing, are they irrelevant or in theory should none be missing?

As far as I remember the engine switch was for versatility to make the game as good as possible. I don't know exactly if the engine is what's causing the crashes, though.is the engine change causing all of these crashes and bugs? if yes then why was the change brought up in the first place?
It was done immediately after Unity tried to change their license terms to increase their revenue share and introduce per-user installation fees, and before they rolled back the changes. That was quite a short window and I would be shocked if this dev flipped to a new engine in the middle of it coincidentally. As far as I remember the engine switch was for versatility to make the game as good as possible. If the crashes are linked to things like setting for anisotropic filtering of textures and such, then it's indeed issues with engine more than the game. Since these are things which are handled by the engine and not the game specifically. The reports generally sound like poor compatibility between display drivers of various devices with what the engine is trying to do.It's also unlikely to be the engine itself causing the issues
Yeah, I mostly always hear good things about the engine. I just don't wanna say it *is* the engine's fault as a guess and it be wrong. It was done immediately after Unity tried to change their license terms to increase their revenue share and introduce per-user installation fees, and before they rolled back the changes. It's also unlikely to be the engine itself causing the issues but rather the porting of a partially complete project to a new engine. Just updating engine versions can often throw up some unexpected issues, switching to a different engine entirely is pure nightmare fuel.
Oh ignore my comment anyway. I didn't realise they were using Renpy I thought they were on Unity for some reason so I guess the timing is irrelevant. Preeetty sure I was just mixing it up with a different project entirely.Yeah, I mostly always hear good things about the engine. But I do remember hearing about the engine change from Ren'Py being due to its 'limitations'. Ever since the switch the game has been, as you said, nightmare fuel. (I still think it's a great game though)
Definitely worth a shot if you don't mind a few potential issues. I recommend saving frequently.my goodness lots of problems being reported, is it worth trying?
