Late reply but since it was bumped, eh... Ko-Fi has something similar in their TOS. I looked at multiple platforms most don't allow anything that could be remotely offensive to some people somewhere. Generally platforms use porn/adult material to get slightly successful. When they have enough report to get investors or can go onto a stock exchange they ban all that content to look better. It's more than a little disgusting to be honest.
For all the flack Patreon and Itch sometimes get they still allow those types of content on their platform even if they have to limit is severely due to outside forces (the payment processers as AON already pointed out).

My general rule for Ko-Fi is to have an account that's completely void of connections to your main accounts (meaning different username, different birth dates, etc.) and point people toward it if they just want one donation. I'll mention that having a side business that's not involved with Patreon will go a long way for believability, though.
I had someone send a not insignificant amount of money, and while it went through fine, Ko-Fi reached out asking what the money was from and for what. Like for financial crime-based reasons, but still reaching out all the same. Basically, I told them that I have a side-gig where I do book ebook covers with offers for print-ready (meaning back and spine) options, R&D, formatting, and promotion. They just wanted PayPal receipts for proof. So, I photoshopped some of the dates to make them look a bit more recent and was good to go.
Agreed on Patreon. They deservedly (at times) get some shit for their stupid decisions, but they've always gone to bat for adult creators. Itch? Nah. Leafo does and Leafo wants, and it's usually wrong. Every choice he makes is based in greed, imo.
You're not the only one. SubscribeStar is a shit platform (for non-loli devs and far-right conspiracy theorists, at least.).

Patreon just lets you setup shop with nothing extra to "turn it on".

to deal with the patreon/subscibestar TOS restrictions I've been thinking of a new strategy I've never seen anyone use: distributing the game on f95 and other pirate sites (maybe even your own website) with all the problematic content included, while having a patreon for supporting vanilla pin-up renders with the characters but no actual game.
basically the pin-up site would be a completely separate product from the porn game, and you could even go further and say the game is porn parody some fans are making of your totally legit pin-up renders.
it's not fool-proof, especially if you link to patreon from inside the game, but it would give them a pretty good case for plausible deniability.
I doubt anyone finds these games from patreon anyway, 99% of the traffic must come through sites like f95 just because the fans HERE want to voluntarily support the dev.
so it shouldn't be huge problem the patreon isn't technically connected with the game, right? people, especially the audience of problem-content games, would surely understand why a dev needs to do this in the current anti-porn corporate climate.

it could work but you can't get around the problem that if you want money for your game, people need to make the connection between supporting your game and supporting your patreon. less obvious means less money. and it will be as obvious to patreon as the players.
trying something like "hey if you like this game, support the guy who did the pinups i based my game on" could be enough for patreon to give it a pass but would also attract less money from people
you can't give rewards on your patreon connected to the game. you can't link patreon from inside game.

the patreon link would on the f95 game tread OP just like with every other game, so people would correctly assume it's the dev.
where as the in-game message WOULD raise the question that it's not the same guy because you're literally saying as much. so I think it would be the worse option.

yes, but patreon is not hosting the game. not a censored version, not any version, and there would be no patch on 3rd party site. that's why I tried to emphasize it by 'separate PRODUCT'. they can even have different names like 'sunshine city pin-ups' vs 'how I fucked my mother' and I bet people would still get it.
I mean of course SOME wouldn't get it, like people finding f95 for the first time and making threads like "why are people naming characters landlady, that's so stupid!'' but then some older pervert would hold their hand through the 101 as we always do.

yes, what you propose could work reasonably well, but you're trading less risk for less money no matter how you try to swing it. i don't think it will be a popular way of doing it. if someone is that concerned about getting the boot from patreon, i suggest they stick to their rules or go to subscribestar.
of course. they can do anything they want, even completely opposite of the guidelines they give when you specifically ask if your idea would be okay with them.
I haven't read all the small print on TOS but I guarantee there's somewhere a line where they reserve the right to terminate your account for no reason whatsoever. every TOS has that just in case. so nothing we ever do is guaranteed to work.
and subscribestar has the same exact rules in their TOS literally forbidding incest etc, so going there isn't the solution people think. it's a statistical risk just like patreon, and they'll probably start booting people the second credit card companies send them a letter.
so you always take a risk, the question is how big. and the lower you fly under radar the better chances you have.

You never seen anyone use it, because they know that it wouldn't works.
Patreon policy is relatively explicit, you can not use their service to fund a game that have banned content.
They don't care if the banned content is available through your Patreon page or not, it exist, and it's against their rules, period.
There's one and only one exception to this, Mr Dots, who got a special authorization to continue DmD when the ban started. But to the condition that he never ever mention it on his Patreon page.

It's been years now, but some of the mails he exchanged with Patreon were shared here ; surely in one of the threads talking about the (at this time) new ban, but most are above the 50 pages so I'll not search.
At that time he was in the top 3 for adult games creators, what is probably the reason why he got this exception. Unlike Summertime Saga, by example, Dating My Daughter couldn't really be turned "incest free" without changing most of the story, and kicking out one of the most successful creators wouldn't have been good for their future ; they already had to kick out the most successful account, all category, because she was using it to offer "girlfriend experience" (so disguised prostitution) in top of her nudes and movies...
But in the same time they gave him one (from memory but it could have been two or three) month to come up with a new game, and the script of this game (Melody) had to be firstly approved by Patreon.

and I have read all the things you said before many many, many times. you can even find me saying them to others in a million threads about patreon rules. you just missed the point continuously where as annenymous didn't. no biggie though, I understood you just didn't know and were trying to help.
