Game delayed indefinitely

Personally surprised to see so much work left for something that was originally slated for a mid-jan release but illness takes its toll, i suppose :coffee:

The devs are starting to sound a LOT like Dr Bones....probably realised if they dropped the game they promised like a year ago they'd run out of free easy money

They did pause their Patreon for a full three months because of their break.

I don't know if it was because of their break that it was paused. From what I've read work was still being done during the pause, this title and two others included. All there is to show for that work is a few screenshots of code, an eleven seconds teaser of the main menu, and a kanban that was posted a day before their patreon was scheduled to resume.

To timeline real quick
update was slated for late november ->
late november: teaser, illness, and month break ->
late december: mid jan release date ->
mid jan: month break for the purpose of finishing it, return on feb 20 ->
feb 27: kanban is posted, no estimated release date, patreon reopens following day

im no game developer, but i have done my fair share of programming so i sympathise in that things don't always go as quickly as you hope. i do hate to be skeptical like this especially with a free product but people are donating/subscribing for it, id hate to see another bones thing.

sure, but if the plan is to "sit around and do nothing while raking in patreon money" then pausing the patreon for three months doesn't make a lot of sense

I dont disagree, I was mainly just laying a timeline for people to draw their own conclusions. Mine being an illusion of progress to generate interest and gain subscribers.

You can see an increase in paid subs over the months that she had "paused" her patreon. That being said, pudding already said she intended to write a piece on why things took so long post-release, so that should answer any questions that remain.

Finally gave this a try after my ineptitude at FNAF games, was pleasantly surprised. Good sense of humor, gameplay recreated one-to-one, decent and cute artstyle, no gimmicks here. Wish I still didn't suck, but hey, got to Night 6 at least.

BTW, remind me, beating Night 5, beating Night 6 and Custom Night set to max AI levels for the animatronics is the requirement for getting all stars right?

EDIT: Skimming through the thread for some help, I've gathered:

To counter Freddy, cam stall? Then hope to RNG that she doesn't move that quickly to her usual spot? That's the one animatronic that consistently drains my power, and if it isn't that, it's Bonnie. Or Foxy.

For Foxy: how often do I have to look at her so that she doesn't "advance" and rush towards the door, draining my power?

Every scene including Glazed (the donut in the office) and Golden Freddy, Night 6, 1/9/8/7, 6/9/6/9 and 20/20/20/20 for a full 100% completion.

I've beaten 20/20/20/20 consistently and finished it with power in the double digits a couple time, so there's no 'hope to RNG'. For Freddy once she moves into the kitchen make sure the camera stays on the kitchen. You don't need to close the right door as long as the camera is on the kitchen. If you want to check on Foxy to see if she's moved, then close the right door, peek at the Cove, then put it back on the kitchen and open it back up.

Foxy gets slowed down by you flipping the cameras up, but she doesn't actually care which camera, so you can stall Foxy by repeatedly checking on Freddy. Just don't move the camera off Freddy without closing that right door first.

I mean, I usually cry wolf for RNG since after all, it is a tossup if an animatronic decided to stay beyond their due at the window and drain more power than what I can afford, or me being delusional for Foxy's/Freddy's movement chance triggering even though I've done everything correctly, but that does clear some of my doubts at least. Funnily enough, I've played everything but the actual FNAF series so all I've gathered is through osmosis because I'm a big wuss. Still important info regardless, like I thought that you had to check Foxy's camera to make her not move (after all, the phone guy of this game said so, unless it came across as ambiguous/false in the game sense, not story sense) when in reality, it's the moment you flip the camera you're ok.

Funnily enough this is actually significantly harder on night 6 than 20/20/20/20. On the latter Bonnie and Chica will always move every single time they're able to, so you don't even need to use the lights at all. If you hear their footsteps you close the door and then simply open it back up after 5 seconds because they will have always left.

Can confirm, did like 2 runs of the 4/20 mode and it is true. A shame I now have to become an OCD-riddled psych ward patient with how much I have to flip the cameras to slow Freddy and Foxy as humanly possible lol. Not saying it's mind-crushingly difficult, just tedious and repetitive. At least I've also learned to hear the footsteps before either Bonnie or Chika shows up. Minor annoyance, though: because I'm paranoid, I still like to double check if they're right near the office, but I wished that the lights worked as hold to activate, rather than an actual switch. Sometimes makes me forget I have one turned on through a hall and wastes energy I won't get back. Another annoyance: is there any difference in footsteps between Chika and Bonnie? Or it's the same audio cue, maybe in stereo it's different, I dunno. Still curious.

It's definitely panned audio so you're going to have a hard time if you're on mono. I don't know if the sound effects are at all different, but the panning is very obvious in my headphones.

Ahhh so it is stereo, cool detail.

...won't matter anymore cuz, as of writing this, I just beat 4/20 mode. Holy BALLS is that hard and nerve-wrecking. My wrist slightly hurts for how many small movements I had to do for camera switching lol. Still did it, 100% completion.

Motherfuck! B)

...but yeah, delightful game, can't wait what they're gonna cook for part 2 (if it ever comes out)
