This game needs an overhaul on the sentences. You set the relationship to son of Steve and brother of the girls and Kurt, but then we get weird lines like "Keren is Steve's daughter" instead of Keren is my sister or "I got a call from Keren, the daughter of my father Steve" instead of I got a call from my sister Keren. It just doesn't make sense and that's a huge turnoff for me. So if this happens in the first 2 minutes of the game, I cannot even imagine the rest of it.

The script doesn't adapt to the relationship you put like you're thinking, also the original relationship was uncle/nieces not brother/sisters, so Steve is MC's brother with his children being nieces and nephew.

how do i fix all the lag and stutter in animations? it was perfectly fine for the first few scenes and then every scene after that turned into a choppy mess
Danm still? i did some tricks to avoid it, but looks like it's not enough.
I should change the compression from av1 to v9. The files will be bigger but i think it will solve the lag.
Try openning the animatiom from the game files in the movies folder, see it if will lag there too.

just saw this and tested it out, animations are perfectly fine in the movie folder but not in game. the animation stuttering seems to start at anna's scene after the fight at the club
I've been having a weird bug for a few updates, but haven't had a chance to troubleshoot it yet. I open my save games, and the main quest/game lines act like I haven't done part of the content. Yagiri's storyline, Tonya's storyline, the goblins' storyline, etc. They keep blinking out of existence for some reason. It's been slightly annoying because I can't tell what actually is/isn't new content all the time.
I'll try and troubleshoot it later and see if I can pin down what is happening.

Give me your save i can look out for you, otherwise, restart it should solve your problems with a new save.
I am getting a warning for a Trojan called maluri.a!cl as I download this. Is this a known issue in regards to this most recent update? Or is it a feature of the in-game links that may link to patreon and the likes that is the cause of such an alert? It is my Windows Defender that is seemingly blocking the download from completing when it finishes and throwing it in the safety bin.

That image tiling can sometimes happen when the image renderer used by RenPy is being stupid... quit the game, restart it while holding the Shift key down. Change renderer at the upper left to the 'Angle...' setting. Press Quit at the bottom and try to restart the game.
