Ren'Py - Fallen Heirs [v0125] [HoloFlux]

Sorry to jump in so early.. Hopefully I'll change this after the next update to more stars.

This is the shortest demo I've seen.
MC works at a fast food joint, quits, sees the lawyer about the will, goes to the mansion, meets the widow, then goes to bed. That's the end. Super boring so far and just one game day.

The menu is in a foreign language and you couldn't change the mc's name, however, Boehser Onkel was nice enough to fix that so just look in the forum.

You can already tell the mc is a wimp like in other games... I mean, I know it's early...so maybe they'll fix that.

Colors and graphics are fun

There aren't any choices yet and you just have to go along w whatever the characters tell you to do... Will be much better if/when they fix that.

Shouldn't have released this yet. It's just a very short-stripped down demo and not worth playing yet. Just way too early.

Description says billionaire but MC is only worth $100 Million.

MC is nameless aka "Me". Menu is in another language with no option to change. Points are not explained well. Game feels sandboxy

This game is VERY early but its needs a LOT more work before being reconsidered or viable

VERSION: v0125 (coz 0123 would have been too on the nose)
SUMMARY: Solid start, visually good looking with typical story.

Average: 33 of 45 possible points giving a 73% rating i.e. 3-4 stars. 3.5 stars

PROS:

1. Visually the world and characters look pretty good, the little subtle animations like eyelids and fingers moving are a nice touch. Good job.
2. Decent sounds and music, ambient sounds are a good touch.
3. Decent writing, structured and reads well.
4. Some comical elements to it that are fun now and then
5. Models are pretty good looking, the MC is not exactly what I would call good looking but it could be worse

CONS:

1. Interface needs work, accessing settings in game can only be done from mini bar Preference button and interface is written in Portuguese with no English option.
2. Some clearly, sandbox related interface and gameplay is apparently in the works, however not accessible yet in this version, pity.
3. Little actual content here to play and evaluate.
4. What content is here ends rather abruptly, almost like the dev just wanted to get the game out and garner support. Not a good look really as the "quest line" was not even complete.
5. Very sudden sexual content with the maid that was rather jarring and too forward for some house maid going after her new boss without any idea about him...just not very believable.

FINAL THOUGHTS & SUGGESTIONS:

• Interesting choice dialogue and point system, though not sure what the impact of it is and could need a replay to see alternative. So far the impression my instincts are to keep going for the touch approach and earning points, but if thats the way to go, why have the option?
• I am not a sandbox fan, its often not well developed and blocks the player and really only gives the impression of free will. Better to have a normal VN and play from one chapter to another in a linear fashion with choices in between. Sandbox creates busywork and frustration in my opinion.
• Impressive, what is here now and I hope to see it continue in this way and standard. Some odds and ends need work like the UI and hopefully the sandbox is fun and not grindy or tedious and content is actually good
• Sadly the game does not provide a full feature chapter/episode and is almost rushed for some reason. I can only surmise that the dev needed or wanted to get it out ASAP to get financial support. While this game is impressive to start, its rushed and unpolished and feels desperate in the last 5min of game play...still could be good, just needs some more work and hopefully decent updates.
