Welp, I got around to playing this game. After seeing how good Goblin Conquista was way back when, I figured that this game was going to be pretty good and for the most part, it didn't disappoint. While this is only the Dev's second game, it's definitely a very good work.
That said, the Dev did make some weird decisions when it comes to it all. The previous game's combat was challenging and you had to worry about RNG fucking you over in certain fights and whatnot. This game though... well, it's really easy to end up with Reiri being essentially invincible outside of scripted battles, though you still have to use your brain a little bit. The only time the combat was actually challenging in some form or another was when you control Merumeia, because she has completely different skills compared to Reiri and a different rhythm for activating stances and whatnot... Still not that difficult overall.
It likely wouldn't matter that much, if not for the fact that the majority of H-events with actual variations is linked to losing in battle... and while you have an "I lose" button so to speak, it's somewhat disappointing that you genuinely need it. This is extra true given the fact that there's no particular reason to avoid losses. Unlike the previous game, this game doesn't have any bad-ends at all. There's only 1 ending, and Reiri's lewdness or lack thereof doesn't matter one bit when it comes down to it. The post-game part doesn't have an ending either, so you can spend as much time as you want doing basically whatever... and there's very few events that you can't trigger essentially whenever you want.
The stuff you can miss automatically unlocks in the gallery anyway. There's 4 boss fights that can't be repeated with lewd events, and a couple of locations specific events and whatnot, but overall, it's not that much. The only problem, of sorts, involves the fact that you can't control certain variations in the gallery. Virginity loss for example can have some amusing text involved depending to who/what Reiri loses it too. There's also the titles things that she can earn during certain lewd events which can also have hilarious flavor text. There's no NG+ either, so there's limits to what you can or can't have in the gallery at any given point so to speak. There's no way to have all the titles on a single save for example since several are mutually exclusive.
Anyway, moving on. The story ended up more interesting than I expected in certain parts. I definitely didn't expect some of the twists it threw out. Like, the fact that the Black Dragon was the Big Bad was quite obvious early on, but his exact nature as a villain, as someone who betrayed his own people and fucked with humanity and treated everything as a game was unexpected. Likewise, the story behind Reiri's father was not what I expected either. Honestly, for an H-game, Dragon Conquista did a much better job than most do in terms of putting together something interesting to play even beyond the H-stuff. Not something I'd normally expect from a dev's second game, that's for sure. Also interesting is the fact that canonically, Kaname, the previous game's protagonist, ended up with an extremely special goblin kid that she took care of and raised with love.
Rolling back to the H-stuff for a bit again, the non-rape H-stuff is a tad disappointing tbh. CGs are reused a lot for that, and it's extremely obvious that the Dev didn't put in anywhere near the same amount of effort as the defeat rape stuff. The same blowjob CG is reused all over the place. There's pretty much only 2 positions that Reiri gets fucked in consensually. On top of everything else, for all that this game is full of sloots with huge tiddies, there's very little tit-fucking going on, or even tit-groping tbh. It's not bad necessarily... but it's not really great either. Those sections of the game could have used some more love I think, but it's pretty clear that the Dev didn't really care that much for that stuff. It's also obvious from the fact that the only lovers Reiri can pick up are a disgusting old man and loser, fat-ass otaku...
Still, it was a very fun game to mess around with. At some point, I'll probably do a second playthrough where I'm focused on slutting it up as much as possible and ensuring that Reiri has bunches of kids... but that's for a different time.
Oh, and before I forget... As always, Dazed's translation is well above other MTL methods, and O&M did a great job with the pictures and stuff, though the game could definitely use some love in terms editing. There's, as always, some pretty funny speaker and gender problems in some places...
As such, I'll still hope for a better translation, and dream that I'll be able to replay the game with it. It's definitely one of those games that's worth revisiting.
