About how much playtime is there for an initial release? Is it worth it or should I give it a few updates if I like to binge?
Are we suppose to be playing the good guys or are we the evil guys? After the 8 year mark I can't tell she sounds like she is Evil as she wants to destroy everything not just get revenge on the Usurper.
I think the additional backstory does provide some good context for what they went through and how dark and messed up things got. I'm still concerned as to whether the MC and Princess are just too far gone down the darkness path. However I'll check out the next update or two to see how it goes.

Still too early too realy judge the game, but It has some nice looking charaters, would be cool if they got voices added too them ones it comes near completion.
personaly i do not like huge amounts of text too read, if a storyteller voiced version was added that would be awsome, sadly Christopher Lee is dead, but a dude with a voice like that would definatly keep me around too hear all the text too the end

Don't expect anything too extreme. Think of this as a vanilla harem game with a touch of dark fantasy edge. I'm currently revising some dialogues from Chapter 1 since the main character turned out less likable than anticipated/or rather I didn't like some flair of it myself.
The goal is to portray the main cast as chaotic neutral rather than purely evil, as being the good guys doesn't quite fit a cutthroat world. However, choosing a more evil path will be an option in one of the routes.

Finally got time to play this game I had downloaded it the the day it was released here but didn't have the time to play it then.So I thought from reading the game description that we the mc can either be a proper chivalrous knight or a corrupted guy but after playing the game I see no sign of the chivalrous guy.Best example of a mc who is either heroic or not would be in the game "Superhuman "from Weird World the plot remains pretty much the same the only difference is people react differently to the mc and the MC's dialogues differ that would be the way for the dev to make a different mc without having two full different paths.All in all it doesn't seem like a vanilla harem game with touch of dark fantasy to me it seems like a corruption game where the other Lis would be just mindless bitches and puppets.So this part of the description doesn't seem true given how the mc himself is "will you seek allies to save your princess from falling into corruption?".But that was just my personal bitching I am not be intrested in this type of game because of the mc and the future of the Lis as just Broken pets but the game looks beautiful the princess looks beautiful and I liked her and the stats system seemed cool.Games where you can only play as a full bad guy just isn't my cup of tea even though I play sometimes as not pure good guy in games but not anything like this.Overall I kinda got fooled from the description of the game as I thought we had the option to be a chivalrous Knight or a corrupted one.I wish the Dev good luck for his game and also sorry for the this rant.

Progress Update (2024/05/24)
Hey everyone,
Crown of Desire is now available to play on WEB and itch (though it's not very optimized for web play).
I've been working on the next update for Crown of Desire and thought about releasing a smaller update soon, but I decided to wait a bit longer to add more content. I'm aiming to release it in the next two weeks and hoping to include a spicy scene with Felicia.
The new game launch had great feedback but it hasn't gotten as much attention as I hoped. It's still early days, so it's hard to say how it'll do in the long run. I'm tweaking some parts of the game to make the main character more likable as it feels his "predatory" narrative is a bit too much for a common route at least. Just some small tweaks, but I think it'll improve the experience for most and whoever wants to go the evil route, they'll have a choice later in the story.
I'm also planning to spend some time improving Wicked Rouge Refine over the next few months. There are some areas in character development I want to enhance before wrapping up the game this year.
That's about it for now. Things are looking good, and I hope you'll enjoy what we've got in store for both projects.

This might end up being pretty good depending on how receptive people are to the limited animation of scenes as well as the style of gameplay being more "gamey" than goner. The princess is absolutely hot and I'm looking forward to trying to balance her alignment a bit. Cheers.

I just want to say that the renders are gorgeous. I can see the effort put on making the background not bland.
Plus the minor details are also nice (the transition effects). I agree with some of the other comments. This game should have more exposure due to the much higher quality of both renders and general polish.
I don't have any money to support you, but as a dev to another, all I could say is that your hard work really shines through this game.

Some time in late June his software malfunctioned and he lost a lot of animations for the game - most of the new content, apparently. So he decided to focus on Wicked Rougue until completion. He is reworking old renders for the early Wicked Rougue chapters, adding new scenes to WR and finishing the storyline for WR. So my understanding is this game is on a break / on hold.

Really great so far. I like the story and world building and how it was portrayed. That our protagonists are not necessarily good but likely required to do what they do sets a premise different from most VNs I have played so far. The theme and tone are extremely well presented in the renders and characters and backgrounds alike. Character design is great. Sound design and music are very nice.
A small point of criticism would be the animations looking a little low fps to me. Would like to know if this is the case just for me or if others had that happen as well. Not sure if this is on my end, but have not seen this happen elsewhere.
There is also a switch between "Evenstar" and "Everstar" for the name of the royal family. The first is mostly mentioned before the time skip (e.g. Berholdt and Freya talking) and when talking to Morrigan sitting in the tavern room the dialogue has the latter.
Coding seems pretty solid though I know the free roam segments will probably still be polarizing regardless even if well implemented. Will keep an eye or two on this and see how the next updates look like. You got me intrigued. Keep it up!

I'm sorry to be the messenger of bad news, but it looks like Crown of Desire development will not be continued. Developer fidless said so himself on Discord, citing a lack of sufficient support from players on Patreon to continue the project. However, expectations are higher for Wicked Rouge, motivating the developer to focus more on the development of this game, which seems to have a more secure financial future. I'm leaving you with screen shots that confirms this, sorry for everyone, I too liked this game a lot and it seemed very promising. Nevertheless, the adventure is over for CoD ...
