What doesn't make sense to me though, is the very idea of deadly encounters in a porn game.

At least, there should be a choice between having to fight or just fuck the enemies into submission, one after another!
That's what I'd call a fun game.

I may not have phrased it correctly: It may be a good XP farm, but if the enemy respawns indefinitely, boredom sets in, not to mention that sometimes they manage to get a strike in, and you don't have time to loot hearts/potions/whatever unless you kite them around.

So the complaint is : It was getting so tedious. So I just left, rather than to waste time.

edit: Do you also love it when shit doesn't load in properly?
Like one time there is an elevator, and the other time...there isn't? Better hope you don't need that autosave cause if you do, you may be stranded in the ruins of kab'alrah

I think so too. From UR4 to UR5 the game went from having a pretty character that you could style and have random sex with, which was a bit of a bummer because there were few male characters to have sex with: just women and fruits (basically a lesbian fantasy) and it went from that to a game where you play with a character dressed as a mummy, in a setting full of statues and monsters and even these statues have more sex than the character. Where's the hentai part?

There's a whole initial quest line before you get your body. Once you get that far you get a fairly decent character creator, and people you can have sex with are marked on the map. You can't just fuck anyone randomly anymore.

Just think of it: it is a fantasy game dedicated to the world full of lust and unconstrained sex. Common sense dictates that developers should start by developing random encounter mechanics. Something that takes a couple of moves to initiate, with an option to switch positions, and with free camera of course.

Instead of that, they are making a generic mainstream game that has sex scenes as a built-in bonus, and each of them is designed and scripted separately. And the quests and other conditions that make those scenes available, are another story.

Just think of it: you, being a gorgeous character in sexy clothes, have to cross half the world just to talk someone into having sex, while all the presumably horny people around are plainly ignoring you. If it was real, I'd find their lack of interest quite offending.

I was lost at the beginning: the game starts in a very remote area and the more you try to advance on the map towards populated areas, the screen goes dark and a message appears that the area is under development.

I'm not impatient I just don't like having to replay the same tedious intro quest every single update or restart which I learned the hard way after bricking multiple saves with bugged quests.

Also they did add an island specifically to function as a gallery but they just didn't put every scene in it for some reason.

If you dant wanna facepalm yourself to coma because of bugs and stupid restrictions - play UE4. It takes a few days to complete.
And then maybe Subverse releases and maybe, aurelia too. Then there supposed to be complete version of Warlock and Boobs next year. While you play them, you can forget about Carnal instinct for a while - and then MAAAAYBE after a year or two you can try a fresh version of... Wild Life. After some intense playing there is possibility you will want to take a break, maybe go on vacation. And after returning home you can search for Carnal Instinct and pray, there will be enough content to compare it to UE4 build and enough testing done so you can actually play it without breaking a game twice an hour.

I love how in the first few patreon builds for this update, one of the new scenes involved an NPC rapidly vibrating against a table. Yes, it's a silly bug that ruined the scene but it also means that they're actually using their physics system in that scene and just had some placement issues.

They were fed bullshit about Epic's marketing of UE5 which blared optimisation nonsense then they found out the hard way that those "optimisations" are nothing more than corner-cutting methods to squeeze out 10 more FPS in a game that runs at 20 FPS originally.
NONE of the performance features of UE5 do a damn thing for optimisation besides some half-baked, lazy, noob-worthy slight improvements that only happen if your game is already in a DIRE state with no optimisation applied to it at all.

All those devs that jumped ship to UE5 are either, in reality, completely incompetent when it comes to visual optimisation, or took advantage of it to pretend like they're working.
In the end it's the fault of the patreon donors that keep donating even though the project is making marginal progress.
