You can do the recital on any path, you just have to practive her song on your guitair whenever you are given the option, I believe that there are two opportunities.
Yes, it just means that you aren't on the path of any of the main girls. You can still get content with all of the side girls such as Nicole and Lily.

thats good im going through a bunch of paths (though my Main Path/Girl Save is Jill)
how do you get the "Others"? when i was on Jill's Path at the end of Ep 8 i can pick her or Sage or "Others"
on this Save im on i only have Josy&Maya Sage(Mod:Both) but there is no "Others" option

But you must get a copy of the music from Jill in the first place to be able to practice it, think you got to practice at least 2 rimes but I always practice 3 times.
