Dear pirates,

The succubus council is currently discussing the details of the upcoming dialogue system. We would like to gather your thoughts on the following aspects:
  • Dialogue system: How would you like the new system to function? What features would you prefer?
  • Visual performance: Do you have any suggestions for improving the visual aspect of the dialogue?
  • General feedback: What do you think about the overall direction of the project?
Your input is greatly appreciated. Please share your thoughts with us.

Best regards, Succubus Council

What's up with this weird rp shit, you're weirding people out, you weirdo.

Anyhow... you need to have an actual asterisk glyph. Rollback-rollforward should work for the entirety of the dialogue, or at least for the entirety of the choice segment. The functional difference between Space and E is unclear from the presentation. E is fast skip? The girl's speech bubble obscures the cat's face, and it really should not, character sprites should form a dead zone for dialogue bubbles.

we'll think about it

the space bar is used to select an answer option for the cat, the Q and E keys are used to scroll through the answer options

Wait wait wait hold on. These are options? Wow, congrats, I'm stumped.

What happened to the concept of a menu? What happened to the concept of displaying all options at once, without the need to navigate them at all??? Whether to display the options as different bubbles, or selection within a single bigger bubble is down to personal preferrence, but there is no need to not display all the answers at once. You're not pressed for screen space here at all.

yes, I don't tap on the screen space and I can have a dialogue with one hand, there's no problem with that

iM nOt lIkE oTheR gIrLs moment. Some things are done certain ways for a reason, and the reason is they work, and others don't.

??? I don't think you understood what I said at all.

Anyways, I see that you didn't really want any feedback, so I'm out.

Oh, I see that you deeply thought about all this...

Why use the intuitive direction keys, or page up/page down, or even use Q and W, that would make sens on both QWERTY and AZERTY keyboards, when you can use Q and E, that make no sens outside of QWERTY keyboards?

It totally match the "answer options" thing in your attempt to make a game that people will not want to play.

intuitive? just the same, these keys don't make sense in my opinion
They are either directly side to side (QWERTY) or one on top of the other (AZERTY)... But yeah, it surely doesn't make sens to pick them as keys to scroll through options...

this is a desktop game.
:WaitWhat: And how do this relate to the fact that Q and E is a counter intuitive pick for the keys?

Okay, let's be objective: if I change the keyboard shortcuts to A and D, does it change everything?
Yes, because it then become intuitive for both QWERTY and AZERTY keyboards... Not the best approach for the second, but at least not carrying an opposite meaning in regard of the key position like Q and E.

Like you clearly dislike the arrow keys and page up/down, the best choice would be either D and F, or H and J, for relatively obvious reasons.

and once again your answer is absolutely not related to what it answer too...

ok, I'll consider replacing the hotkeys.

I would also like to note that the character's movement takes place on WASD, and the dialogue with the cat was made for demonstration, these are naturally not the final dialogues in the game.
