Is this game as bad as Shakai is or is it improved?

Shakai
1. No goals to strive for
2. No good event tracker
3. UI is slow and clunky and makes moving around very slow

Or has this been improved in this game as I could not tolerate more than about 10 minutes of Shakai due to how bad the UI and game play was.
