Let me just rip a few pages & ideas from my own GDD.
Player-created NPCs with quest lines, quizzes, dialogues, personality. What you heard.

The point would be so you no longer have to interact with the other person on the other end of the screen in real-time. We do so by giving the players the ability to create 100+ characters and parking them online as they move on their own from their clients PCs pulling all the heavy lifting. Or doing some static database on my server since text is cheap to store. Ok values are cheap to store.
So you actually get a populated MMO instead of the vacant dumpster fire most MMOs and multiplayer games are
And you get a vibrant community where you have stuff to do 24/7 who caters to your needs 24/7 cause it's no longer a dude on the other end of the screen with wife and kids who has too many responsibilities and fee fees to want to do your 4 hour RP or watch you spam poses.

Ah because they are not customized with their perks, fee fees, questlines, special snowflakeness bullshit.
The pre-written BOT will give you quizzes made by yours truly.
She will give you dialogue lines with vocabulary which isn't dialogueA,B,C.
She will bitch and moan differently depending on how her creator wrote her. (I still wish audio files weren't so easily hackable and easy to insert a virus in them)
She will bitch at you for using her not preferred speed at the incorrect time and the right poses at the incorrect time.
She will call you good boy. She will react much quicker at what you're physically doing to her. Either instant reactions or with 3-5 second lag to make it believable.
Then comes the PvP characters, PvP servers, the mafia, the physical stuff.
Treat a NPC wrong like raping her in bed and she will call her other 99 bots to gang up on you and bait you and lure you and rape you back and steal all your money.
Ye know like a true mafioso. I got 101 problem bots, but a sissy BBC gay mixbred whitemexican human isn't one of them.
She will call all her other 99 bots to gang up on you. She will social engineer you to click the PvP server to make it more exciting and she will make you drop your partyhat before she steals it. She will make you trust trade her. Trust me.
