Hello all,

I understand that 2D sidescroller games like Night of Revenge are largely animated via skeletons and several different sprites forming the limbs/parts of the body connected together..

However, many of the animations, specifically the sex scenes, are very "squishy" or "jiggly" and I'm wondering how the dev achieves this.

Here is an example of a defeat scene from the game:

Here is an example of a gif of one of the H-animations in-game (looks like it's animated very similarly)

NoR.gif

Is this just hand-animated (including the boobas)?
Or is there some kind of physics engine at work?

Thank you!

Thank you for this wonderful resource! I'll read it in depth but just perusing through it, it looks like it applies to a pendulum motion such as swinging hair as opposed to, say, the deformation of the breasts which act more like a squishy ball. Would you be able to apply this pendulum skeleton to a closed loop or something in order to simulate a round shape like the breasts?

Night of Revenge is animated in at runtime. I think the breast animation is done manually as interpolated mesh deformations (Spine didn't have physics when Night of Revenge was released). The r34 link looks almost like 2D soft body simulation at points, but I don't think it is. Similar results could also be achieved using Live2D as suggested, as well as AnyPortrait, Moho Pro, Adobe Animate, Blender, Maya...

I guess thank you to D-lis for the 200FPS hyper realistic breast swinging then. Very cool, thank you for the information!
