Overview:
The Polyamory Edition is a complete overhaul of Bare Witness. It features extensive rewriting and scene rearrangement in order to enhance the existing story and focus it on a single polyamorous relationship with the four main heroines. This mod seamlessly combines most of the MASH content into a single route with a fresh, but familiar, poly love story.

This mod turns the game into a kinetic novel.​

I'm not looking for any financial support, but if you gave this mod a try, please leave me some honest feedback. This is my first publicly released piece of "adult" writing, and I would appreciate any sort of review.

Yes, I forgot to mention that I removed the music due to the discrepancies between the two versions and just not wanting to deal with it. I figured no music would be better than leaving in what was already there and having it potentially be out of place tonally.

I apologize if you or Storm find this offensive. My intent was only to create fan fiction of a game I greatly enjoyed. I am not attempting to profit off of this in any way and have kept the original credits in the game along with the links to support you two.

This... this is what I've been looking for and didn't even know it.

I'm not being hyperbole. What I've gotten tired of with renpy games is they simulate a situation or relationship dynamics but they don't tie back into the story. It's soap opera tier writing essentially. I tried the original and that's what I thought of it and why I didn't like it.
But this. You've cut out all the chaff, focus on a core cast of characters and made them all interconnect with each other. I know it's called Poly Edition but the actual forming of a harem and the dynamics that result from that, the love and support Heidi, Athena, Mora, Sadie and Shelby all give each other. It's... refreshing. I can see why you liked these characters now, as the various jokes like Heidi saying the harem is hers or Mora quoting Princess Bride I came to like too.
The scenes themselves are hot as hell, turns out if you have characters form an emotional connection with each other it can actually add to a scene rather than just two people having sex.

All in all, this is what the main game should have been and if this were on Itch.io, I'd pay money for it. You should consider writing more, I very much like your work.

Interestingly, I don't think you got out of this what the author was going for ... nor did you get out of the main game what the devs were going for, and which many did.

Thank you for sharing. I'm glad that I was able to make BW work for you!

As for future projects, I haven't decided what I want to tackle next. Working on an original project would be nice, but this is just a hobby for me and not something I would ever prioritize over my actual career, so I am hesitant to commit to working with an artist. I definitely stepped on some toes while creating this mod, so I probably won't take this approach again, but maybe I could officially offer my services as an editor or something like that. We'll see.

First, I guess I was wrong.

I just found it interesting that they felt the need to degrade the original in the same breath of complimenting your interpretation of the, as they put it, "core" story. The fact that someone who decided the original wasn't for them (implying they gave up on it, so never played through to the end) still came here and found your version kinda makes me shake my head, but I guess that's the point of making an alternate version in the first place, so that is probably a bad take on my part.

Also, they kinda dismissed your assertion that you WEREN'T making a "harem version" but wanted to make a story that was even more about everyone being with each other than the original managed to be ... at least that's how I interpreted your description and the story I watched/read.

It's cool that they like your version, but you didn't make a game. You made a singular story. So to compare the writing of their game -- with all it's choices (cliche or otherwise) that had to blend together, perfectly or imperfectly -- to your rewrite of their work and say that their work was so bad, but your work was so great ...

I liked your story. I thought you did a great job retelling the MASH story and I appreciate how you weeded out all the things that bothered you and added some bits to fill in parts to bring it all together. But many of those things were the elements that made the game as a whole work, even if individual paths may have suffered some for it.

I don't agree that the original story fails to bring these characters together in a satisfying way, but I do agree that your take makes for a more focused telling of the MASH storyline, bringing some of the story elements that could have been part of it from the Heidi-Sadie story, and removing some of the more "game-play" elements that aren't necessary to the MASH narrative.

Anyway, that's why I said what I said.
