Anyone excited to see what game will come out of Action Game Maker ?

Action Game Maker is launching this summer, It basically enables anyone to create a side scrolling game so we can hope for small platforming games to full blown metroidvanias.

And seeing how the porn game world is filled with RPGM games that tried to be more action focused, i'm glad they are getting the right tools to do so !

Would be cool to see some actually functional and crisp sidescrollers, but we all know the RPGM slop that's out there. It takes a good chunk of fine-tuning and creativity, something that's always in short supply.

Except that RPG Maker is designed for interaction between the characters and dialogs. What clearly isn't the case for Action Game Maker. And it's a big obstacle when one want to make an adult game with lewd.

Oh ! I didn't know that. But Interactions are actually more defined via gameplay in action game, and dialogue are just text cases with pictures. So you mean that Action game maker does not allow this type of interaction, only pure gameplay part ? If so that's a shame really :/

I am not sure how much more godot games you want to see. The engine just so happens to not have a dedicated tag on f95, unlike some truly obscure and outdated ones.

that's my point, I don't understand why there isn't more, there's a few game made in godot tagged as [other] but it's free, lots of free ressources and very versatile.

you could replicate a RPGM game in godot and even add new feature that you wouldn't see in RPGM due to engine limitation.
you can make side scrollers or even 3D games or isometrics 2D and pretty much whatever devs can imagine and the scripting is done in GDscript which is python tailored for game. you can also code in C with a plugin.

any asset you have for any game you can think of, you can use in godot and the community support is vast, it's free, open source and very open about commercial use and distribution.
so yeah, i'm really curious as to why it is not more popular.

I hope we can get a proper "game", but very unlikely. A game where you enjoy the gameplay without losing the quality adult aspect would be a huge welcome. It would require a budget and a dev committed to making a "game", rather than someone who thinks they can milk with a bare minimum VN's.

Pretty sure there's already an engine specifically for 2d sidescrollers, it's some janky thing that has this distinctive screen-tearing effect in menus, this game uses it, would be curious to know what it's called (Clickteam Fusion?). Realistically, you may see a bunch of defeat-rape games, but not much else.

it's a continuation of pixel game maker mv, which is already being used, and it's hardly the only low-barrier-to-entry option for 2d action games (those options also being used for porn).

are a similarly old (compared to rpgmaker) series of no-programming-necessary game-making programs and good for any 2d action game, not just platformers (turn-based gameplay or 3d is technically possible, but it's not the right tool for that, especially for the latter).
surprisingly popular in japan given that they're not japanese products.
last time i've paid attention to it was in multimedia fusion days i think and i recall it progressively losing to game maker in popularity in the west, which is another option.

a cute girl (sometimes a cute girl with a gun/sword, and rarely a cute boy) getting beat up/mutilated/killed brutally if the player doesn't git gud. sometimes it's just the violence, sometimes certain opponents may be rapists.

Coincidentally, I ran into someone making a plugin for RPGMaker to do Action Game stuff like 2 days before I got wind of this and mixed it up.
